What is nutritional therapy?
The primary focus of nutritional therapy is ‘food as medicine’ using evidence-based and personalised interventions within your diet to optimise health and wellness.
Nutritional therapists use nutrients and lifestyle modifications to address potential nutrient deficiencies and imbalances, optimise the functioning of body systems, and encourage the body’s innate ability to return to optimal health.
During an in-depth initial consultation, we discuss any current symptoms, medical history, and where appropriate your lifestyle to help me identify any imbalances and how they may link to your health issues. I will then deliver a plan personalised to your health needs and goals.
In certain cases, I may use specific functional tests to help identify the root cause of your symptoms. Additionally, I might recommend supplements to address any nutrient deficiencies. It's important to recognize that each person is unique, and there is no "one size fits all" approach. The underlying causes of an individual's imbalances can vary based on their diet, lifestyle, genetics, and environment.
I offer face-to-face consultations within my private clinic in Cheddar, Somerset, or remotely via Skype/Zoom/Teams.
